Quandary Peak Research provides computer science expertise to companies and government agencies engaged in high-stakes lawsuits involving software. We help our clients understand complex web and cloud applications, smartphones, digital media, safety-critical embedded systems, and more.

As a member of our small and growing team, you will work with company leadership, directors, consultants, and the company’s marketing department to grow and expand our existing business lines and expand into new ones. This is a unique opportunity for candidates with a background in sales, business development, and social media.

  • Education Required: B.S./B.A. in Business Administration, Sales, or related field
  • Travel Required: Approximately 25% travel to major U.S. cities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior industry related business development experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Minimum of 5 years in business development or marketing experience within legal or other professional service environments
  • Lead generation experience
  • High level of discretion, diplomacy and a commitment to maintaining the highest level of confidentiality
  • Proficiency with Hubspot or similar CRMs and other sales and business development tools

Responsibilities

Candidate should expect and be prepared to perform some or all the following functions, based on the company’s specific needs and other business development staffing resources:

  • Maintain and nurture relationships with our strongest clients 
  • Expand our visibility and build relationships with new customers that fit our ideal customer profile, such as IP attorneys, contract attorneys, medical malpractice attorneys, C-Suite executives, hospitals, compliance officers, and others that are seeking our services
  • Manage and execute customer outreach and direct communications, such as requests for meetings, emails/phone calls, and distributing company marketing materials 
  • Manage and direct sales content (with input from management and experts) such as capability statements and pitch decks
  • Run or direct PR and social media campaigns (post organic content, engage in conversations online)
  • Maintain a well-formed customer database (both existing and potential customers)
  • Serve as a owner for improvements/enhancements to Hubspot/CRM for Business Development use; propose and assist in the selection of other bus-dev tools
  • Develop and expand business development Playbook with plays for different roles (e.g., consultants, directors, admin, sales, social media, marketing) with specific tactics for different phases and strategies (direct sales, social media, events, etc.); train Quandary Peak staff on business development playbook plays they are responsible for executing
  • Book consultants for for speaking events, interviews, and other publicity opportunities
  • Research and schedule upcoming networking and speaking activities (conferences, webinars, meetups, etc.) 
  • Maintain active membership in organizations and ensuring we stay visible and active in the orgs that we feel add value to our BD efforts.
  • Review and select opportunities for sponsorship (of events or other).
  • Maintain a strong network of Quandary Peak colleagues, affiliates, partners, sub-contractors
  • Assist Quandary Peak experts in maintaining a strong online professional presence and expanding their professional social network 
  • Support Quandary Peak’s hiring efforts
  • Perform customer and competition research
  • Maintain calendars for upcoming potential/planned events and send event notices; assist with logistics and admin support for any physical events, travel, etc.
  • Assist Quandary Peak leadership in business development strategy and planning, such as establishing detailed budgets and staffing plans, reporting on key metrics, and proposing new techniques or strategies
