William Luk is a software expert and technical executive with more than 20 years of experience in computer and network security. William has developed or led product teams to develop enterprise class firewall, intrusion detection systems, database security, and data security / privacy solutions at Symantec and several startups.

William currently serves as a consultant in Quandary Peak’s Due Diligence team to support technology investments, mergers & acquisitions, and software related litigations. William is skilled in security analysis, software architecture, and code review and assessment.

  • Served as technical advisor and software expert for various startups with solutions in security and compliance & risk assessments.
  • Led product development teams at CA Technologies to deliver the market leading data modeling solution (Erwin), and application performance monitoring solutions for Fortune 100 companies.
  • Led product teams to deliver enterprise class intrusion detection / prevention, honeypot systems, and database security solutions at Symantec.
  • Led engineering team to develop tier-1 carrier class virtualized firewall solutions for MCI, AT&T, NTT, and Korea Telecom.
  • Developed application-level firewall solutions to support HTTP, FTP, Mail, and video conferencing.
  • Served as Chief Security Architect at Union Bank of California (subsidiary of Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi) to oversee the bank’s security parameters, wire / merchant transfer security. Advised Union Bank business units on security / vulnerabilities of new banking products.
  • Holds a M.S and B.S. in Computer Science from University of Southern California.
